(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Secretary of State and Defence Ministry Spokesperson, confirmed that Thai F-16 fighter jets carried out four bombing strikes on Cambodian territory between 12:30 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. Friday (Jul. 25).

Maly Socheata spoke on Friday (Jul. 25) during the press conference on the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

The airstrikes targeted Preah Vihear Temple and Wat Keo Sekha Kiri Svarak three times and Ta Krabei Temple once. Socheata also reported that Thai forces fired four shells into Monorom Primary School 1 and 2 in Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey, as well as civilian areas, injuring residents and damaging homes.

She condemned Thailand’s heavy use of cluster bombs, labelling the attacks as war crimes and violations of international law, warning of their severe long-term impact.
